Q&A: Shadow Fire by Courtney Rene

Super excited to have Courtney here to celebrate her latest release, Shadow Fire, book four of her Shadow Dancer series. I was lucky enough to read this book before it was released and it doesn't disappoint.

Q&A with Courtney on Shadow Fire:

What was the spark or initial idea that started your book?

I was feeling bad about the life that Leif was living. Yes, I know he is fictitious, but since I had created him and the story of his life, I felt he deserved a better ending. Something more than sadness and self-destruction. So, I gave him one.

What was your favorite part of writing this book?

I liked writing the past sections. It was run to wind all the characters together and show how they morphed into the people they grew to be. I had no idea it would be so much fun.

What movie or television show would you say is most like your book in tone, topic, and/or characters?

I got nothing here. I can’t think of any book or who that is like mine. It’s one of the reasons I was able to have so much fun with it. I didn’t have any barriers to over come. It was all new ground to work with. The only book that even comes close would be “Jumper” but they only jump from place to place, whereas my characters jump realms. That’s the best I can do.

If your book was made into a movie and you got to design the movie poster, what would the tagline say?

Shadow Fire: Where will the Shadows lead you?

  1. I am so excited to read this new book by Courtney. I've read her others in this series and loved them all. I know how much of a challenge it was for her to tell this new book from a males perspective so I'm anxious to see what she came up with. Goodluck, Courtney. I know Leif's story will be just as successful as the others!
