A space pirate almost loses everything she cares about when she’s blackmailed by the military into running a dangerous mission.

She spun when she was finally out of their sight. “In-laws? What have you been telling them?”

He shook his head, but didn’t answer her. “What did you find out?”

She pulled her personal panic back in and focused on the job. “There might be signs that Mecha’s been infiltrated.”

"They aren't safe here.”

“Andrew,” she started to protest what she knew he was going to ask.

“I’m not leaving them here with everything going on.”

She had two choices, she could give in and let his family tag along or she could refuse and he would jump ship and stay here to protect his family.

    Love the snippet - fear of in-laws is pretty universal.

    Yikes! I agree with JC...in-laws is a pretty scary word. I'm afraid the decision would already have been made, were it up to me. Great snippet with nice tension!

    Are they her in-laws/his parents, his in-laws, or somebody else's in-laws? Sounds like your setting something up, in any case.

Books to Movies Giveaway Hop

One of my favorite subjects are books to movies. I LOVE watching adaptations and studying the skill of turning a book into a movie. Adaptations are getting a lot of attention now with the success of the Twilight and The Hunger Games series.
